~ Add a "Guestbook" to Your Space ~

      Personally, I’m not too particularly big on the new style guest-book what sets out on the main pages of spaces. I’m still old school when it comes to the guest-book, like it to be hidden with a link to open it in it’s own window. The following is a step by step walk through to create your own guest-book. The old fashioned way. *grins … *

 

1) The blog ...

Ø Click on “Add” in blog section to create a new blog.

Ø Entitle your new blog entry. I suggest simply “Guest-book”, but you can name it anything you’d like.

Ø In doing the body of the blog, try to think of something which will entice folk to post a comment saying hello.

Ø Clicky on “Publish entry”, and open your space to preview.

 

2) The blog list module ...

Ø At the top of your space, click on “Customize”, then “Add modules” in the drop-down.

Ø In the yellow customize bar, click on “Modules”

Ø Scroll down to “Blog list”, and clicky on “Add”

Ø Module should appear at top of space. Move it to where you’d like it to be, and clicky on “Save” in the yellow customize bar.

Ø Go to new module, and clicky on "Edit list"

Ø Clicky on "Edit list information", and in "List Title:" field, give your module a name. {mine is entitled ~ Contact da Bunker ~ }

Click on "Save", and return to main page of your space.  

 

 

3) Edit blog list module ...

Ø Scroll down to the bottom of the guest-book blog you posted, and right click on “Permalink”

Ø In the drop-down, clicky on “Copy shortcut”

Ø Return to your new list, and clicky on “Edit list”

Ø In list editing page, click on “Add Item”

Ø In the “Web address:” field, paste the shortcut you copied previously from the “Permalink” drop-down. This will be the URL for the guest-book blog.

Ø In the name field, type in “Guest-book”, or whatever you wish. {This will be what highlights for people to click on}

Ø In the “Description” field, type whatever you’d like to invite people to leave comment. {Ie: “Sign it, or die tryin to escape”}

Ø Clicky on “Save”, and viola!! … Your guest-book is ready ta rock.

 

Points ... 

Ø As you post future blogs, the guest-book blog will naturally work its way into the archives, out of sight when your space opens to the main page.

Ø You can edit your guest-book as often, and anytime you’d like by opening it while signed in, and clicky on “Edit”. Make whatever changes you desire, and clicky on “Publish Entry” No muss, no fuss.
